***JA6YBR Experimental Beacon Survey (Open Until End of November 2025)***
Since its launch in 1985, the JA6YBR 50MHz experimental beacon has continuously transmitted on 50.017MHz. This year, in November 2025, we will mark the 40th anniversary of its operation. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all of you for your long-standing support.
In recent years, especially in DX communications, there has been a notable shift toward FT8 as the preferred operating mode. Additionally, propagation conditions and station activity—both domestic and international—have become more accessible through online resources. As a result, the role and necessity of beacons for checking band conditions are gradually evolving.
The current transmitter of JA6YBR, which was updated in 2012, is now in its 13th year of service. We believe it is time to begin considering its renewal.
In light of these developments, we would like to hear your thoughts on the future direction of the beacon and its significance within the amateur radio community. To that end, we have prepared an online survey.
We warmly invite you to share your candid opinions, impressions, and suggestions regarding the beacon. Responses will be accepted until the end of November 2025.
We would also be grateful if you could help spread the word among your fellow radio operators. Your cooperation and insights are sincerely appreciated.
